Rafał Mokrzycki
Polish pianist, a winner of the Valletta International Piano Competition in Val- letta, Malta (2017). He has been awarded in many other national and interna- tional competitions and was supported by the Polish Children’s Fund, as well as by the Karol Szymanowski Foundation.
An unique place in Rafal Mokrzycki’s artistic oevre is dedicated to the music of Frédéric Chopin, which he emphasized by recording his debut album titled Magical Chopin including pieces of this Polish composer exclusively. The CD was released by the label DUX in 2019. The pianist has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in the National Philharmonic in Warsaw (Poland), the Na- tional Forum of Music in Wroclaw (Poland), the Opole Philharmonic (Poland),
the Koszalin Philharmonic (Poland), the Lviv Philharmonic (Ukraine), the Con cert Hall of the Radio and Television in Tirana (Albania) and the Schönberg Center in Vienna (Austria). Rafal Mokrzycki was invited to perform at numerous international festivals i.e. Valletta Piano Festival (Malta), Gulangyu Polish Music Week in Summer in Xiamen (China), Sacrum non Profanum in Trzęsacz (Poland) and International Paderewski Festival in Warsaw (Poland). He has per- formed in many European countries, as well as in China and Japan. His wide rep- ertoire includes works from baroque to the present time.
Rafal Mokrzycki studied with Katarzyna Jankowska-Borzykowska, Elżbieta Karaś, Barbara Halska, Sibila Konstantinova, Avedis Kouyoumdjian as well as Jerzy Sterczyński. The pianist graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Ma- sic in Warsaw and the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts.
